About KV Mathura Cantt

The Foundation stone of this Building for KV Mathura Cantt. Was laid by prof. V.K. R. V. Rao minister of education & youth services government of India on 30th august in 1970.The Foundation was presided over by LT Gen JT Sataravala MC, Chairman LT Col BD Mishra, Garrison Engineer Major S.B.Bavari, Principal Dr.B.L.Chaturvedi.

This school is one of the Kendriya Vidyalayas which are being developed as Model Schools, the centers of excellence. The objective is to equip the students to face new challenges by providing more developed educational technology, additional infrastructure, compulsory Computer Literacy from Class III onwards, better Library facilities, separate Junior Science Lab. Adequate Audio Visual Aids, Guidance and Counselling Services and more freedom for promoting Experimentation and Innovation in the teaching-learning process. The medium of instruction, at present, is bi-lingual, Mathematics and Science subjects are taught through the medium of English and Social Sciences through the medium of Hindi / English. The Vidyalaya is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and prepares Students for all India Secondary School Examination and Senior School Certificate Examination of the Board.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Mathura Cantt is run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan an autonomous body formed under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and is affiliated with Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and has a common syllabus and curriculum of studies.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mathura Cantt, has a four-fold mission viz.,

  • To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including - Defence and Para-military personnel by providing a common programme of education;

  • To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education;

  • To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) etc. and

  • To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of Indianness among children.
